Cargill reports first-quarter fiscal 2013 earnings

Cargill today reported net earnings of $975 million in the fiscal 2013 first quarter ended Aug. 31, compared with $236 million in the same period a year ago. First-quarter revenues were $33.8 billion compared with $34.6 billion in the year-ago period.

Cargill to open new bakery in Oregon

Cargill announced today that it is expanding its bakery capabilities and capacity with a new Integrated Bakery Resources (IBR) facility, scheduled to open in late August 2012 in Tualatin, Ore. Cargill is leasing the Tualatin building, which also will include office space for IBR’s administrative functions. IBR is managed by Horizon Milling, a Cargill business.
